CASHIER
The Cashier is responsible for processing payments, handling cash and records accurately, and providing courteous front-line service to guests. You will work closely with the Canteen Supervisor, Accounting, and serving team to ensure a smooth flow at the counter and a positive experience for everyone who comes to the canteen.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Handling
Operate the cash register / POS to process cash, card, or digital payments accurately.
Issue receipts, give correct change, and safeguard cash during the shift.
Assist with end-of-day cash counts and simple sales summaries.
Customer Service
Welcome guests warmly; answer basic questions on prices, menu items, and available promotions.
Help manage queues during busy periods, maintaining order and respect.
Handle minor concerns courteously, referring issues to the Supervisor when needed.
Coordination & Records
Coordinate with the kitchen regarding sold-out items, special orders, and timing.
Maintain a tidy, organized cashier area with visible price lists and clear signage.
Support simple record-keeping (log sheets, discounts, basic reports) as required.
Basic Qualifications:
Senior high school graduate
Experience in cashiering or customer service (canteen, retail, café, or similar) is an advantage
Comfortable with basic math and handling cash accurately
Honest, reliable, and respectful; committed to confidentiality and integrity in money matters
Able to communicate clearly and courteously with people from different cultures and backgrounds
Willing to work shifts, weekends, and special events as needed
