Job Description
Interpret blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare the project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
Collaborate with clients, designers, and architects to understand furniture design specifications and make necessary modifications.
Select appropriate wood types and materials based on design requirements and customer preferences.
Measure, cut, shape, and smooth wood and other materials using hand tools and power tools.
Construct, assemble, and repair wooden structures and furniture pieces such as cabinets, tables, chairs, and shelves. Install hardware such as hinges, handles, and locks.
Apply finishing touches to wood furniture, including sanding, staining, varnishing, and painting to ensure a smooth and polished final product. Inspect and repair damaged or worn furniture to restore functionality and appearance.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Others or similar fields.
