Job Summary:
The Design Estimator will work closely with project managers and design teams to prepare accurate cost estimates and material take-offs for various projects. This role requires proficiency in CAD software and a strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost factors.
 
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project specifications and drawings to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Utilize CAD software to create and modify designs as needed.
- Perform material take-offs to determine quantities and costs.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure accuracy in estimates.
- Analyze cost data and prepare reports to support budgeting and decision-making.
- Stay updated on industry trends and material pricing to provide competitive estimates.
- Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals for clients.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and availability.
 
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Drafting, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Proven experience as a CAD Operator or Designer, with a focus on estimating.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Familiarity with construction materials and methods is a plus.
