ResponsibilitiesAs a CAD Drafter, you are responsible for drafting and designing OSP fiber infrastructure as well as fiber schematics. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge.In addition, you will:
Create accurate OSP network maps
Prepare drawings and designs according to the client's engineering specifications using applicable software
Provide support to other internal teams as needed, such as to permit packages and traffic control plans
Make design decisions regarding construction and safety methods in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as client-supplied information
Prepare detailed Construction Drawings for clients, adhering to industry standards
Communicate with internal staff and clients over the phone and email
Manage production/time of multiple workflows
Perform quality checks on plan design drawings
Have familiarity with telecom projects detailing outdoor equipment, indoor building layouts, and fiber diagrams
Be detail-oriented, have a professional attitude, good communication, and be a team player
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, relationship building, self-starter, excellent time management, and organizational skills
Work as part of a team or independently
Set up and manage CAD drafting and plan preparation standards
Read information and instructions, and interpret and analyze the content from materials such as technical reports
Solve problems that are frequent and unique (A CAD draftsman may need to use creativity and judgment due to frequently changing conditions)
Complete tasks with latitude to decide what work will be required well in advance of actual activities
QualificationsAbout You:
You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with OSP permitted construction plan sets.
Have a 2-Year Technical or Associate Degree in CADD preferred
You have knowledge of using the following machines, tools, equipment, electronic devices, and software: Excel, Word, Auto CAD, and O-Calc
3-5 years' experience in AutoCAD (Civil3D or Map3D)
2-3 years' experience with Autodesk Connector for ArcGIS
Experience drafting permits for a US based company (advantage would be specializing on Rail Road, Department of Natural Resources and Traffic Control Permits)
2-3 years' experience with AutoLisp routines
