JOB DESCRIPTION
The Role
As an experienced C#.Net Developer, you will be responsible for delivering solutions, such as application interfaces, related to data management, data architecture, data integration, data consumption, and data quality in the Health and Benefits team. The role expects you to apply modern-day best practices and agile project delivery principles to ensure rapid delivery of value to the business using Azure services. You should act as a role model for others within the team by collaborating with the worldwide team and promoting a can-do delivery culture whilst adhering to high-quality standards.
You will implement new areas of data technologies (ingestion, processing, distribution, visualization) and research delivery methods to aid in removing technical barriers to data access and distribution. You will work with complex data models, and relational and non-relational database structures and collaborate with a diverse team in the design, development, testing, tuning, and implementation of data solutions. You will also complete documentation and procedures for maintenance. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Development of highly reliable, reusable, maintainable, and competitive software solutions following the company’s set of software development standards and best practices
Work closely with a solution and data architects and a new team to implement software development plans, focusing on data management projects and paving the way for future projects related to data analytics
Build functionality to advance the H&B Technology team’s application interface using C# and Azure to support the execution of data strategy with a focus on data integration and data consumption
Support the spin-up Azure infrastructure to cater data analytics solutions – security, compliance of Azure services, data ingestion, validation, storage, and movement utilizing various Azure-based tools
Working with appropriate stakeholders to understand the system and functional requirements
Planning and executing software development in the Agile method of delivery
Collaborating on delivering technical excellence across the organization
JOB QUALIFICATION
The Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, Engineering, Statistics, or a relevant field
5 years of experience in professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, continuous deployment, testing, and operations
C# 7.0+, .NET Core, Restful Services and APIs (WebAPI)
SQL Server 2019 or later, proficiency in Transact-SQL and RDBMS
Understanding of Git for software version control
Proficiency in Azure DevOps or similar, strong understanding of CI/CD (pipelines, project repositories, work dashboards, and test planning)
Ability to write quality unit tests with NUnit or XUnit
Experience with Azure Logic Apps, Function Apps
Knowledgeable of cloud and hybrid-cloud implementations including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
Experience of working in an Agile-Scrum environment – close partnership with QA and/or project stakeholders (Product Owners, Project Managers, Architects, business), preferably with experience working collaboratively with colleagues from different geographic areas
Utilize effective work planning techniques to break down complex requirements into tasks, manage the scope of requirements, and ensure deadlines are kept for own work and fellow engineers
Strong problem-solving and data-driven analysis skills
Ability to coordinate day-to-day development and bug-fixing activities, multi-task, and be mindful of deadlines. Self-motivated and ability to remain focused on assigned projects
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Azure data and analytics tools – Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Bricks, ADF Data Flows, and Data Pipelines strongly preferred familiarity with Javascript, JQuery, and AJAXUnderstanding of Spark SQL and NoSQLUnderstanding of Redgate SQL Change Automation (SCA)
Azure Cloud Platform Certifications are a plus
