We are currently seeking for passionate and dynamic Kitchen professionals who pride themselves on their ability to deliver extraordinary levels of customer service and provide creative solutions to our guests.
As a Butcher you are responsible for the entire operation within the butchery section, whereby your role will include key responsibilities such as:
Responsible for the correct and timely kitchen preparation for all butchery items
Checks Butchery section ensuring the highest possible hygiene and maintenance standards
Conduct daily checks on the quality and freshness of products
Monitor all aspects pertaining to the control of the hotel's food cost
Ensure HACCP standards are implemented and follow the appropriate hygiene standards as per Municipality requirements at all times.
Work with the hotel team to create the company experience for guests.
Provide all requisitioned cuts of meat and fish for all facets of the food preparation operation.
Adhere to hotel standards for safe food handling and storage.
Keep equipment clean and in proper operating condition.
Maintain cleanliness and stock coolers and storage areas.
Complete food requisitions to maintain inventory items
Maintain and clean the meat preparation counter to reduce the risk of food contamination and adhere to food safety guidelines.
Requirements
1-2 years' experience as a butcher in a well-known restaurant or hotel
With 2 years' experience in preparation of sausage, fish and traditional meat products
High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent oral and verbal communication skills in English
Knowledge of food safety
