This is a superb opportunity to join our CGI-Edmonton team providing leading information technology services to our clients. Our BI Analysts are involved with the design, development, and support of business intelligence solutions. As a successful candidate, you will use your creative skills to transform business challenges into both scheduled and self-serve solutions and use your data analysis, modeling, metadata management, and data quality skills to design, build, test, and implement business-facing solutions such as reports, dashboards, cubes, and scorecards. Your future duties and responsibilities: - Working closely with key clients to understand business requirements - Designing and building valuable and reusable data warehouse constructs such as star schemas, data marts, scheduled reports, cubes, and metadata repositories - Creating and implementing standards using standard methodologies - Defining and executing thorough test plans - Ensuring that information products meet business objectives and are maintainable - Providing work plans and accurate estimates Required qualifications to be successful in this role: - Minimum of 5 years related IT experience in either development or maintenance - 3+ years using Microsoft SQL Server Report Services (SSRS) - 3+ years using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) - Thoroughly versed in data warehouse concepts and SDLC - Experience in data architecture and data management. Desirable to have experience in designing star schemas, data marts, and cubes - Meticulous with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills - Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and an ability to work in a team setting - Ability to clearly and concisely articulate issues, approaches, and solutions Desirable: - Detailed knowledge SQL Server 2008R2 and 2012 - Proven client interaction - Knowledge in Data Definition Language - SQL Performance Tuning Required level of education: The ideal candidate should possess a university degree or college diploma in a related field (Computer Science, Business, or Engineering) or equivalent work experience. #LI-JA1 Skills: Requirements Analysis Test Planning & Implementation User Acceptance Testing What you can expect from us: Insights you can act on While technology is at the heart of our clients' digital transformation, we understand that people are at the heart of business success.
