JOB DESCRIPTION FOR A BOOKKEEPER
Our client is a successful leading Business Process Outsourcing Industry that provides dedicated remote staff and offshore staffing services with a smart choice when it comes to outsourcing staff in the Philippines. We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper or Accountant, preferably with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) expertise, to manage daily accounting and finance tasks, along with additional administrative duties. The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of full-time XERO experience with an Australian client, excels in data entry, bank reconciliation, audits, financial reporting, and BAS preparation, and demonstrates strong knowledge of Australian legislation. Essential qualifications include confidentiality, excellent organization, attention to detail, and effective communication, both independently and as a team member.
As a Bookkeeper:
• Worked with an Australian client for 2-3 years with full-time Xero experience in an accounting firm.
• Extensive knowledge in data entry, bank reconciliation, financial audits, financial reporting, BAS preparation, and a deep understanding of Australian legislation.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting or a similar discipline is strongly preferred.
• Minimum 4 to 5 years of proven work experience and track record in Bookkeeping and accounts is strongly preferred.
• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of Xero experience and a deep understanding is a must.
• Experience with Business to Consumer organizations a plus.
• Strong communication and writing skills..
• Top-notch ability to manage compliance such as GST, PAYGW, super, BAS, and Workcover.
• Mastery of general accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and accounting software (MYOB AccountRight, QuickBooks) advantageous.
• High level of accuracy, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Exceptional conceptual thinking, resourcefulness, diligence, and attention to detail.
Your Responsibilities as a Bookkeeper:
• Maintaining the accounts of clients, and managing processes about accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, inventory, payroll, invoice builders, and sales / Point of Sale reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly reporting packs.
• Check daily tasks and notifications from the team.
• Manage payment plans, including follow-ups, pauses, cancellations, and refunds.
• Update overview sheets for monthly summary revenue figures and enter payment type received into each perspective sheet (mainly MF5P Sheet).
• Process payroll and monthly superannuation payments
• Pay the contractors' invoices.
• Notify senior staff of any accounting errors.
• Conduct monthly bank account reconciliations.
• Manage record-keeping, including scanning and maintaining client records electronically.
• Prepare financial reports, generate reports from accounting systems, and provide commentary.
• Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested.
• Train and guide junior bookkeepers, analyze areas of weakness, and monitor their work.
