JOB DESCRIPTION FOR BOOKKEEPER
We are looking for a Bookkeeper to join our team. The responsibilities of a Bookkeeper include managing our day-to-day accounting and finance requirements. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills, and accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly.
The successful Candidate will help build the Client's best practice process to streamline his workflow and systematize the business.
As a Bookkeeper:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a similar discipline is strongly preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of proven work experience and track record in with data entry, record keeping and computer operation and related bookkeeping tasks including balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, end of month journals, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and payroll is strongly preferred. 2-3 years of experience in Xero.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Xero, MYOB Account right and Essentials, QuickBooks.
• Excellent communication and written skills.
• Keen attention to details and high accuracy is a must.
• Must be able to work unsupervised and develop with the business and as an individual.
• Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business insight.
• Excellent conceptual thinking, resourcefulness, diligence, attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
Your Responsibilities as a Bookkeeper would be:
• Maintaining the accounts of clients, and managing processes in relation to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, inventory, payroll, invoice builders and sales / Point of Sale reconciliations.
• Assist in preparation of monthly reporting packs.
• Check daily tasks and notifications from the team.
• Follow up, pause or cancel, and refund payment plans.
• Update overview sheets for monthly summary revenue figures and enter payment type received into each perspective sheet (mainly MF5P Sheet).
• Process payroll and monthly superannuation payments
• Pay contractors invoices.
• Notify senior staff of any accounting errors.
• Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank account.
• Managing the record keeping including:
o Scanning and otherwise entering and maintaining client records using various electronic and internet-based record keeping tools.
o Preparing financial reports by collecting, analyzing, a summarizing account information and trends.
• Preparing client reports, including:
o Generating reports from accounting systems
o Manipulating the format and presentation of reports to better communicate important business information or meet client specifications.
o Analysing and providing commentary on reports to assist user's interpretation of them.
• Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested.
