What are we looking for:
We are in search of a Sr. Accountant- you will be working with our client who has been growing at a fast pace over the last 2 years. They have 5 main brands that span different categories including Sports & Outdoors, Home & Kitchen, Toys and Games as well as an Amazon consulting business that works with a small number of high-value clients.
We're looking for an excellent Sr. Accountant who will join our team, and grow with the company.
In this role, you will be focusing on overall accounting, managing the invoicing process and the other duties and responsibilities as specified below.
Beyond your experience, we are also looking for someone who is professional and possesses impeccable English communication in both written and verbal. The ideal candidate should be flexible, passionate and have a keen eye for detail, analytical and team player.
This role is 100% work from home, full time work on Australian business hours 9AM-5PM.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss, and other statements.
Lead internal audit engagements
Verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling accounts payable and receivable
Producing error-free accounting reports and present their results
Analyzing financial information and summarizing financial status
Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
Reconciling Amazon and Shopify statements
Manage the invoicing process.
Process accounts payable functions including, vendor maintenance, bill entry, vendor and credit card payment processing, and document filing.
Process accounts receivable and billing functions, including payment application, account reconciliations.
Develops integrated revenue/expenses analyses and reports (data mining from expenses, purchase orders, sales orders)
Weekly Sales Report, Quarterly CustomerProfitability Report, Weekly Cash Flow.
Interact with customers regarding invoice questions, payment application, and other billing issues
Assists with variance analysis (sales, COGS, Inventory, Expenses, Capital Expenditures).
Performs financial reconciliation of internal accounts.
Co-develops inventory control management and measures its impact on business performance indicators.
Ensures compliance with tax reporting. Assist with payroll and process in a timely manner.
Online sales reconciliation.
Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
Assist with special projects or other duties as requested.
About You:
At least 5-10 years experience in the accounting industry
Understanding of online revenue streams, including Amazon, shopping carts (Shopify), affiliate programs, etc.
Have experience working with Amazon Sellers or E-Commerce businesses, but preferably Amazon businesses;
Understand the US Tax and Compliance Landscape, as you'll be completing all Tax and Compliance requirements for US businesses
Should be a black belt in Xero
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Must have hands-on knowledge and expertise of the Inventory process in Xero and be able to process transactions accurately.
Be super trustworthy, as you'll eventually be asked to complete payments and move $$$s between the accounts
Previous related experience working with accounts payable or accounts receivable.
Advanced Excel (pivot tables , V lookups), Word, PowerPoint.
3+ years ecommerce accounting experience is very helpful.
Base knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
Must be experienced in and understand statements related to PayPal, Amazon, Payoneer, Shopping cart, affiliate program, Adworks and FB Marketing.
