BOILER OPERATOR
 
Immediate Superior: EMD Manager
Area of Assignment: Engineering and Maintenance Department
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least High School graduate
With at least 5 years relevant work experience as Boiler Operator from a Seafood Manufacturing Industry
Efficient in Boiler operations
Industrious and physically-able
SKILLS:
With high enthusiasm and good technical abilities.
Must have innovative and team working skills.
Should have the ability to work well under pressure.
Must have the motivation to work extra hours when necessary.
Must have good interpersonal skills and can work harmoniously with others.
Should be respectful, trustworthy, reliable, and hardworking
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitoring steam boilers and safety devices
Adjusting boiler controls
Operating auxiliary equipment and performing routine maintenance
Following correct boiler operation procedures/established procedures
Monitoring steam pressure on high pressure steam boilers
Maintaining boiler plant equipment/maintain high pressure boilers
Reading pressure gauges
Ensuring boilers are operating efficiently
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of mechanical equipment and mechanical maintenance
Adjusting gas controls on natural gas systems
Replacing worn or damaged boiler system and piping system components, such as defective valves
Maintaining emergency power generators that feed power to hospital equipment
Checking fuel levels
Monitoring cooling towers
Repairing steam engines
Using safety equipment/following safety procedures
