Job Description
Responsibilities
Developing fully custom themes on the BigCommerce platform from back-end to front-end.
Developing custom BigCommerce functionality for features and requirements that are not native to the platform.
Extending BigCommerce functionalities to next level using storefront APIs, Stencil util-API.
Migrating sites from other CMS to the BigCommerce platform.
Optimizing page speed of BigCommerce Sites.
Implementing SEO/CRO best practices in BigCommerce sites.
Upgrading sites from BluePrint to Stencil Framework.
Developing responsive websites.
Installing, customizing and integrating 3rd partying applications such as review systems, search, subscriptions, payments, etc.
Mapping and developing automated scripts to migrate content, blogs, catalogs, customers and orders from different platforms to BigCommerce.
Developing fully executed websites on BigCommerce from PSD, Sketch, XD and Figma files that are pixel to pixel in relation from design to development front-end.
Assisting our project management teams with Client related development questions.
Being the technical liaison between the PM and the Client, being able to jump on phone calls and assist the PMs on development related questions from the Client.
Create and hold to a development timeline for each project.
Quality Control and User Testing.
Troubleshooting and quickly fixing bugs and live site issues and errors.
Launching BigCommerce stores (repointing domains, setting up MX and A records, etc)
Identify and help internal sales, design and PM teams identify what is native in BigCommerce and what would need to be custom developed.
Providing scoping assistance with projects and Client requests.
Identify and present development solutions and ideas for solving Client requirements.
Assist the design team on possibilities and functionality in relation to the SOW and native capabilities.
Be able to read and understand a SOW and ensure the project is remaining within the SOW.
Providing technical support and customer service to active Clients and internal teams.
Requirements
Strong, expert knowledge of BigCommerce platform.
An expertise in BigCommerce theme development and customization.
Expert level knowledge of BigCommerce Stencil framework (handlebars, front matters etc).
Comfortability working with Storefront APIs and Stencil util-APIs.
An expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/ECMA Script 5/6 and some familiarity to React.
An expertise in JavaScript libraries (eg: jQuery).
A thorough understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.
Strong understanding of responsive web design techniques.
Experience with ReactJS/AngularJS.
Proficiency in HTML and CSS.
Proficiency in domain and hosting configuration.
Basic knowledge of SEO techniques
Advanced PHP & MySQL and AJAX skills.
Ability to work with and integrate third-party APIs.
Knowledge of loading Speed Optimization / Code Compression / On-Page SEO.
Experience in CRO / UX / UI Development.
Working with version control systems such as GIT / SVN.
Must be able to speak to Clients professionally and comfortably on video and phone.
Must have strong leadership skills and be able to manage multiple projects at once.
Must be very task and timeline oriented.
Must be experienced in conflict resolution.
Willing to work in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
Willing to work on any schedule.
