Roles and Responsibilities
The BI Developer will be responsible for developing insightful and performant reports and dashboards, both internal and client-facing, and will work with the teams to coordinate and deliver new technologies through the business as we move to take advantage of the best the public cloud offers, machine learning, predictive analytics and more.
- Requirements gathering, development and delivery of custom reporting
- Aiding customers with self-service reporting
- Defining data structures, schemas and data-flows
- Tool evaluation, recommendation and selection
- Implementation of data strategy and architecture
- Applying production changes
- Assist the product teams in delivering data and information for customer benefit, and providing competitive
distinctions
- Defining and maintaining security posture for data - data labelling, roles and permissions based on least
privilege
- Optimising existing data systems
Required Experience
- Knowledgeable in Technology Stack
- Knowledgeable in a diverse array of databases and persistent stores
- Heavy use of cloud technologies across both AWS and Azure in a complex landscape
A Successful Candidate must have
- SQL query writing skills, and optimisation
- Sound demonstrated experience with one or more enterprise business intelligence platforms
- Experience with multiple database and persistent storage engines
- Schema design and management using advanced tools such as Redgate
- Experience working with development, architecture and analytics teams
- Data-lake and ETL process engineering
- Cloud - AWS/Azure
- Operational management of busy systems
Proficient with
- Microsoft SQL Server
- AWS Aurora (MySQL)
- Postgres
- Redshift,
- Redis
