In addition, the CGI Benefits Manager serves a liaison to insurance providers to resolve benefit related problems and to ensure effective utilization of plans and positive member relations. The position also assures compliance of welfare and retirement plan regulations along with ensuring benefit procedures are documented and benefit policies are administered appropriately. This role must be located in Fairfax, VA. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years of experience managing employee benefits. Your future duties and responsibilities: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS . Excellent interpersonal communication and client service skills. . Demonstrated computer efficiency. (Excel, Microsoft Office, Human Resources software programs). . Administers employee benefits programs such as retirement plans, health, dental, life insurance, disability programs and voluntary benefits. . Coordinates annual reporting such as annual non-discrimination testing, 5500 filing, Summary Annual Reports, retirement plan reports. . Evaluates and compares existing company benefits with those of other employers by analyzing other plans, surveys, and other sources of information. Plans, develops, and/or participates in area and industry surveys. Analyzes results of surveys and develops specific recommendations for review by Senior Management. . Assists in the financial management of plans by preparing regular cost reports to management. . Helps develop specifications for new plans or modifies existing plans to maintain CGI's competitive position in the labor market. . Manages the implementation of new plans and changes by preparing announcement materials, booklets, and other media for communicating new plans or changes to members. Revises and reissues all communications materials on benefits from time to time. . Counsels Member Services representatives on plan provisions. . Manages annual open enrollment period during the 4th quarter of each calendar year. Arranges for distribution of materials from carriers, assists with communicating changes to members. . Maintains plan records. . Strives to ensure member understanding of benefit programs by, regularly generating communications. Acts as liaison with various insurance carriers and fosters effective relationships with client representatives. Acts as a resource for Payroll/HR contacts to ensure their understanding and compliance with benefit and HR policies and regulations. . Prepares and distribute correspondence, memorandums, reports as required. . Assists in the development of departmental practices and procedures. . Maintains knowledge of current local, state, and federal laws regarding employment practices and benefit administration, including the McNamara O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). . Coordinate in the benefits and wellness fairs and other events sponsored by the human resources department.
