The Barista is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by preparing and serving a variety of coffee and tea beverages, as well as other menu items, in accordance with established recipes and quality standards. The role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
 
Customer Service:
Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Take customer orders, answer questions, and make menu recommendations.
Handle customer complaints or concerns with tact and empathy.
Beverage Preparation:
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, including espresso, cappuccino, lattes, and other specialty drinks.
Follow established recipes and brewing procedures to ensure consistency in beverage quality.
Operate coffee-making equipment such as espresso machines, grinders, and drip brewers.
Cash Handling:
Handle cash transactions, process payments accurately, and provide change to customers.
Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems.
Maintaining Cleanliness:
Keep the café and workstations clean and organized.
Clean coffee-making equipment and utensils regularly.
Monitor and restock supplies as needed.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
Communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
Product Knowledge:
Stay informed about coffee bean origins, flavor profiles, and brewing techniques.
Provide information to customers about different coffee blends and brewing methods.
Upselling and Promotions:
Promote special offers, seasonal drinks, or other promotions to encourage upselling.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role is preferred.
Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and espresso machine.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
