Job Description
Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts. Develop and execute new recipes and innovative pastry creations while adhering to established standards.
Ensure consistency and high-quality presentation of all baked items. Monitor baking process, oven temperatures, and baking times to achieve desired results
Decorate pastries and desserts using artistic skills for an appealing visual presentation. Maintain inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, and place orders as needed.
Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and execute menu items that complement the overall dining experience. Maintain a clean and organized baking area, following food safety and sanitation standards.
Train and mentor junior pastry staff, providing guidance on techniques and procedures. Stay updated with industry trends and new baking techniques to continually enhance skills and offerings.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 year(s) of working experience is required.
Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Food and Beverage Preparation/Service Management or similar fields.
Proven experience as a Baker or Pastry Chef in a professional kitchen. Culinary degree or relevant certification in Baking or Pastry Arts is preferred.
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and pastry decoration. Creative approach to dessert presentation and the ability to innovate
Attention to detail and precision in measuring and baking. Time management skills to ensure timely preparation of baked items
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Team player with excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and weekends.
Additional Information:
Salary is negotiable in accordance with qualification and experience
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy baking equipment. Manual dexterity for precise pastry decoration and handling delicate ingredients
