Job Description
Produce intricate background line art from scratch, based on storyboards or layout instructions, with a strong grasp of perspective. Incorporate creative elements not depicted in the layout to enhance the final composition.
Utilize photo references and art materials to color backgrounds while preserving the integrity of the line art.
Adjust and refine the final output to ensure seamless integration with character cel animations.
Maintain exceptional attention to detail for every frame and cut, even within strict production schedules, ensuring the quality of background work remains consistent and thoughtful.
Create background artwork using Photoshop.
Develop line art and paint backgrounds for Japanese animation content.
Job Qualifications
Patience and attention to detail, with the ability to meticulously illustrate each piece.
A passion for Japanese 2D content, including anime, manga, and games.
Interest or experience in photography as a hobby or profession.
Genuine interest in tackling both line art and coloring with dedication.
Open to candidates of all ages and experience levels.
Skills Test (Please submit the result of your skills test, including both recreation and coloring, together with your resume and portfolio to showcase your previous works, please include at least 3 background illustrations). Please include your desired monthly salary in your application.
Recreate the provided reference image as accurately as possible.
Tracing the reference image is strictly prohibited (e.g., overlaying and copying the image directly). However, side-by-side observation and replication (mimicry) are acceptable.
Avoid using the eyedropper tool to sample colors during the coloring process.
The theme for the assignment is "A classroom in a Japanese high school."
Use Photoshop exclusively for the assignment.
Include the total time spent on the assignment in your submission.
Please spend at least 15 hours on the skills test; it doesn't need to be consecutive. This test is designed to take over 20 hours, even for professionals.

If you live on another province or region, the interview will be fully online.
