About the ProjectScale Virtually is upgrading its core systems by connecting property management, accounting, and communication platforms through custom backend integrations. We're looking for a Project-Based Backend Developer to lead this effort over a focused 10-week sprint.Your RoleYou will design, build, and deploy backend systems that connect APIs such as Telesign, QuickBooks Online, and Buildium, all hosted on Google Cloud Run. You'll collaborate with our DevOps team to deliver secure, automated, and monitored solutionsthat improve internal operations and reporting accuracy.What You'll Do
Develop backend middleware for API integrations
Deploy and maintain services on Google Cloud
Implement OAuth authentication and logging
Build reconciliation logic for accounting data
Provide documentation and assist in system handoff
Requirements
3+ years backend development experience using Node.js or Python
Proven experience integrating third-party APIs (preferably Telesign, Intuit, or HubSpot)
Hands-on experience deploying microservices on Google Cloud Run / Cloud Functions
Knowledge of OAuth2.0, webhooks, token refresh, and secure API authentication
Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, and logging frameworks
Strong understanding of data mapping, error handling, and audit trail design
Excellent written documentation habits
Preferred● Experience with QuickBooks Online, Buildium, or other financial APIs● Exposure to automation platforms (Make, Tray.io, Zapier)● Ability to work independently on defined sprints and milestonesBenefits
