JOB DESCRIPTION
The AWS PHI Developer is a key member of a 100% remote engineering, working with a tight-knit group of software engineers. The ideal candidate is an experienced and self-motivated Cloud Engineer with excellent communication skills, to deliver and manage reliable, highly available cloud-based systems.
JOB QUALIFICATION
SCHEDULE: 8 AM – 5 PM PST, follows Philippine Holidays
POSITION TYPE: Full Time
WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
·       Utilize monitoring tools to manage and troubleshoot service up-time, traffic bottlenecks, and outages
·       Deploy and manage highly available cloud compute infrastructure using:
o   Terraform or Ansible or equivalent
o   AWS Cloudwatch
o   3rd-party website performance monitoring tools such as New Relic, Datadog, Dynatrace, or equivalent
·       Monitor and solve infrastructure problems
·       Develop novel solutions and coordinate with non-technologists
·       Ask hard questions and challenge assumptions to ensure that the team is solving the right problems
·       Take care of the customers’ needs and ensure cloud infrastructure is maintained
QUALIFICATIONS
·       A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
·       3 or more years of DevOps industry experience is required
·       Experience with AWS
·       Experience with the following platforms and technologies:
o   Enterprise software features (single sign-on, license management, IT configuration, network management, and scripted deployment)
o   Cloud-native and serverless applications (disaster recovery, database-as-a-service, RESTful APIs/microservices, dynamic websites, elastic load balancing)
o   AWS, especially IaaS (CloudFormation) and DBaaS (RDS)
o   Version control systems, especially Git
o   SQL database management (installation, upgrades, monitoring, troubleshooting)
o   YAML and/or JSON (for the scripted deployment of web-based services)
o   Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalent containerization protocols
·       Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERPs) software (NetSuite, Microsoft Business Central, or Quickbooks) is an advantage
·       Demonstrated track record of deploying cloud-based systems
·       Excellent coordination skills to successfully integrate various services in a standardized manner
·       Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
·       Flexible to work on the team’s most pressing problems.
·       Experience in a multi-client environment
·       Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
·       Aptitude in data management, analytics, reporting preparation
·       Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
