Job Description
Project Description: The main objective of the project is to decrease FSP usage by making statistical resourcing for Medical Affairs support more efficient. There are 2 stages for the project. Stage 1 is to develop criteria for assessing complexity of the analysis request to help statistical lead effectively assign the analysis to appropriate Statisticians. For relatively simple analysis requests, these can be done through an app or can be assigned to Junior Statisticians. While very complex analysis requests will be assigned to Senior Statisticians. Stage 2 will be to develop and to validate an app (RShiny) that can be used to automate exploratory analysis for requests with low complexity. This initiative will free up statistical and programming resources while giving Medical Affairs an option to get the results through the app. The intern will be working closely with the statistician mentor to develop this app.
Business Justification (relevance/impact for Pfizer): This project will make assignment of resourcing more efficient including freeing statistical resources to focus on more complex projects/requests and decreasing FSP usage.
Plans for Dissemination of the Results (internal/external presentations and publications): An internal presentation will be done at the end of the internship to present the criteria and the app.
Anticipated Level of Oversight by Requester: This will require a fair amount of oversight (near daily interactions to address questions weekly progress updates).
