Job Description
An Agatos Automation Engineer implements the agreed project scope/s with the client. They are expected to be highly efficient in working on projects in the area of process automation including but not limited to PLC, HMI, instrumentation, and process controls. They need to have a background in computer networking to ensure that communications between devices are connected correctly.
Responsibilities
Basic PLC configuration and programming
Basic HMI configuration and programming
Calibration of process instruments and controls
PID loop tuning
Review existing configuration and programming using defined practices to establish compliance
Support FAT/commissioning activities as required
Identifying errors and issues in development and/or processes
Providing detailed documentation to assist in testing
Ready to accept more challenging tasks and responsibilities that management may assign from time to time
Qualifications
Technical or engineering graduate in the area of electrical, electronics, automation, instrumentation and mechatronics
With a background in PLC programming languages such as Ladder, SFC, STL, and others
With a background in HMI software and applications
Familiar with Aveva Archestra System Platform (especially InTouch/Historian) and GE iFIX - Certification is an advantage
Good understanding of computer networking, communication protocols, and interfaces such as ModBus, ProfiBus, and Ethernet
Basic knowledge of control panel wiring
Basic knowledge of industrial devices and equipment
Computer literate in Microsoft Office software
Ability to organize and manage multiple projects
Willing to be assigned to offsite locations
Proactive and able to lead/drive the group including the client in achieving a project milestone or project goal
Resourceful and has the grit to learn new things related to automation and process control
