Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an information technology (IT) professional for the job of Automation Engineer.
The Automation Engineer prioritizes quality and bug discovery. The ideal candidate must have a robust understanding of testing methodologies and how tools can help our clients. The job is based in Cebu City, Philippines but currently offers a WFH set-up until further notice.
Key job responsibilities:
Interact with the product development team to develop a strong understanding of the project and testing objectives
Review and agree on the automating strategy and approach with the broader team
Able to create Selenium/Cypress Test Automation framework with knowledge on creating the Test base class, utility functions, property files, test annotations, test report generations, and Page Object Model implementation
Design and create test conditions, test data, and data scripts to address business and technical use cases
Consult on the right tools and available assets for automation, performance, and security testing
Use of existing tools and techniques to execute test cases and build/script new tools for performing testing/validating function
Define a concrete plan for deliverables with defined quality gates and agreed timelines
Keep a regular check on the progress of delivery with planned vs actual
The document, track, and escalate issues as appropriate using JIRA
Bachelor's/College Degree, Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication) or equivalent.
With at least 2-3 years of previous experience working as a QA Automation Engineer with working knowledge on Selenium/Cypress Web Driver (preferably using Java)
Must demonstrate an understanding of test automation frameworks
Knowledgeable of programming skills including automation systems and databases
Familiar with programming script languages (preferably Java and Java scripts)
With good analytical skills and a technical mindset with attention to details
Detailed knowledge of testing protocols and processes
Good written and verbal communication skills
