Job Description:
Position Summary
Incumbent oversees the development of tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access databases, Python, VBA, Batch Scripts, Windows Server configurations/load balancing) that facilitate preparation and presentation of business metrics related to divisional benchmarks and the Balanced Business Scorecard. Incumbent manages the process through scheduling, effort estimation, and ensuring on-time delivery. Incumbent manages all phases of the development projects, perform quality assurance checks, reviews the work and reports the project status. Incumbent performs business systems analysis, works with customers to determine business needs and prepares detailed business requirements documents. Incumbent also develops and tests solutions using SQL object development, Python and Batch scripting, SSRS reporting, MS Access databases and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Incumbent perform post-process maintenance and troubleshooting, writes functional specifications documentation and trains database users and other Business Automation team members.
Specific Responsibilities
Oversees the development of tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access databases, Python, VBA, Batch Scripts, Windows Server configurations/load balancing) that facilitate preparation and presentation of business metrics related to divisional benchmarks and the Balanced Business Scorecard.
Manages the Demand Management process by: scheduling start and completion dates based on agreed scope of work, developing estimates for new and existing solutions and ensuring on-time delivery of work including monitoring of external and internal dependencies, tracking of progress, and monitoring of project milestones.
Manages long-term automation projects through all phases of the software development lifecycle: overseeing requirements gathering, prototype development, build, unit test, code review, user validation support, implementation, documentation and ongoing user/customer support.
Reviews business requirements from the BAR Request system to understand requirements, identify components that may be missing or ambiguous and recommend ways to complete or strengthen the material.
Maintenance and Support, which includes: troubleshoot and maintain solutions, create database user guides and train database users and other Business Automation team members
Aligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately

Qualifications
Minimum of 6 years of related experience
Bachelor's degree preferred with Masters or equivalent experience
Specific Qualifications
6+ years of experience in MS Access end-user database development, including business system analysis, and hands-on technical development using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
6+ years of experience in SQL Server development and maintenance is preferred
6+ years of experience in Python development preferred
6+ years of experience in DTCC or financial services preferred
Demonstrated ability to lead work teams and accomplish goals within defined time, resource, and budgetary parameters.
Exemplifies leadership characteristics in support of DTCC corporate objectives
Demonstrates highly developed proficiencies in project, process and quality management, project estimation, issue management, and communication - with special emphasis on conceptual solution development, functional analysis and design, and testing.
