About the job: We are currently seeking a CAD Designer to work remotely. In this position, you will be responsible for creating a variety of geostructural design drawings for construction applications. It is a fast-paced environment where creative solutions help the team win. Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of detailed structural autocad drawing experience. Geotechnical experience is a PLUS. A Bachelors degree is required. Candidate must have a strong working knowledge of structural engineering, plans and specifications. The candidate must be exceptional in the use of AutoCAD, BIM (Building Information Modeling) and Excel.
Job Responsibilities
Prepare CAD drawings (plans, profiles, sections, details) for contract documents based on input and guidance from design staff and in accordance with internal and/or external drafting standards.
Maintain drawing files, sheet sets, CAD standards and other digital files in accordance with internal procedures.
Prepare graphics for engineering reports, professional papers, and presentations.
Perform CAD design work to include surface generation and manipulation, grading, site layout, structural drawing, and quantity takeoffs.
Participate in professional trainings to develop and implement new skills related to the various disciplines of work and advances in technology.
Perform training of other technical staff on drafting standards, requirements, and procedures.
Required Skills/Experience
Exceptional skills with AutoCad and BIM, including experience in developing drawing sets and figures from base data (i.e. engineering sketches, etc.) and based on engineering input and guidance.
A minimum of 5 years of drafting experience
Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work efficiently in teams
Ability to develop large, multifaceted CAD drawing sets based on existing data and engineering sketches
Preferred Requirements
Experience in structural and construction engineering
