JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Diagnosing vehicle issues: Use diagnostic tools to discover and troubleshoot car problems such as engine malfunctions, electrical system failures, and brake problems.
Performing repairs and replacements: Repairs and replacements of faulty components. This can involve tasks like engine repairs, transmission work, brake system repairs, suspension repairs, and electrical system repairs
Conducting routine maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, filter replacements, and fluid checks. They ensure vehicles are in good working condition and address any potential issues early on.
Providing cost estimates and recommendations: Communicate with customers, provide cost estimates for repairs and explain necessary service. Recommend additional maintenance or repairs based on their expertise and the condition of the vehicle
Performing tests and test drives: Conduct various tests to verify repairs or diagnose specific issues. Perform road tests to assess vehicle performance, tests to assess vehicle performance, test electrical systems, or use specialized equipment to check engine performance
Keeping records: Maintains detailed records of repairs, services and parts used. These records help track the maintenance history of vehicles and provide valuable information for future references or warranty claims
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess at least a Vocational Diploma/Short Course Certificate in Automotive-related courses.
Preferably with NC II
With relevant work experience
With good troubleshooting skills (Mechanical/Electrical)
