To be responsible for completion of Financial Statements and Tax returns for sole trader, rental property, contractors, partnerships, Trusts, companies, and complex groups of accounts
Prepare and ensure all workpaper's agree to accounts.
Make all year-end adjustments.
Prepare and ensure that all balance sheet items have supporting documentation.
Check that profit agrees to tax returns/summary.
Perform a high-level review checking for reasonableness of the numbers.
Consider ICA's/dividends/losses/ownership changes/any other tax concerns and highlight for the NZ Accountant
Prepare queries for NZ accountant to gather additional information, confirm accounting/tax position, highlight any concerns on the accounts.
Action replies to queries and complete financial statements and tax returns to a high- quality draft stage for NZ accountant to liaise with client on.
Requirements:
Be Xero certified and maintain this certification each year.
Accounting Qualification (degree level or similar)
3-5 + years' Experience in Australian/NZ Accounting
New Zealand Experience (If they only have Australian experience then this is a nice to have)
Excellent Communication skill and high attention to detail
