We are seeking an AU Bookkeeper with a strong focus on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. The role involves managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, preparing invoices, maintaining accurate records, and supporting compliance requirements. You will also assist with general bookkeeping duties such as reconciliations and BAS/IAS preparation when needed.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including processing bills, supplier payments, and issuing client invoices (approx. 100 per month)
Enter, code, and maintain transactions using Xero
Use Hubdoc to collect and upload source documents (invoices, receipts, statements)
Prepare and process payroll for small business clients (as required)
Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts on a weekly basis
Assist with BAS and IAS preparation and lodgement support
Support month-end and year-end bookkeeping tasks
Perform general administrative tasks such as attaching source documents to transactions
Identify potential issues or risks based on bookkeeping checks and provide recommendations
Assist other client files as needed and perform tasks assigned by the Team Manager or Service Delivery Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
3-5 years of Australian bookkeeping experience, ideally within an Australian accounting or tax practice
Strong AP/AR experience, particularly in invoicing and collections
Solid understanding of Australian GST and compliance requirements
Proficient in Xero; experience with MYOB, QuickBooks, Hubdoc, or Karbon is an advantage
Familiarity with HandiSoft is highly desirable
Ability to learn new systems and tools
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outputs
Confident communicator with good client-facing skills
Able to manage deadlines and handle multiple priorities
CPA or CA qualified (or currently completing) is an advantage
