Summary
This position performs work requiring advanced knowledge which is predominantly intellectual in
character and which routinely exercises discretion and judgment. The advanced knowledge is in a field
of science or learning and gained through a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction.
Scope
The purpose of this position is to use established practices and guidelines applying educational
knowledge of architectural principles as listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor's
competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and
technical competence. This position supports the Architectural Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects
or performs work on routine scope architectural assignments and performs specific and limited portions
of architectural assignments.
Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities
. Develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline
documents for all phases of projects
. Develop estimates, schedules, progress reports, and key quantities tracking reports
. Monitor material estimates and quantities
. Participate in equipment and material procurement activities
. Perform and check basic architectural design and calculations, specify simple equipment, and
solve problems of simple technical complexity
. Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for
compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
. Engage Fluor's global community, promoting a OneFluor mindset
. Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors in design
. Provide close interface with and promote the understanding of other discipline functions
. Deliver quality work, and adhere to the Operating System Requirements (OSR)
. Execute project work in accordance with approved Activity Plans
. Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures
. Contribute to and promote the use of Fluor's knowledge management portals and communities
. Participate in the mentoring program for personal development
. Support the Key Process Owner and Department Manager on initiatives
. Actively participate in Fluor University as necessary to follow the curricula as outlined in the
Functional Development Frameworks
. May promote company branding by active participation in external technical organizations
. Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying
complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
. Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely
manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
. Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff
. Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
. Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
. Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job
. May need to travel to attend to business related matters
. Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
. Other duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
. Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors and visitors
. Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete job
. Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province and federal/national statutes and guidelines
. Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications
. Basic knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials, means and methods of construction
. Practical field experience
. Internship program initiated
. Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
. Ability to use discipline specific software may be required
