ASSISTANT ACCOUNTING CONTROLLER
Requirements:
Male or Female
Must be a BS Accountancy Graduate
Must be a Certified Public Accountant / CPA Board Passes
Must have at least five (5) years Relevant Accounting Department Management Experience
Must have strong leadership and communication skills
Must have a good presentation and analytical skills
Must be willing to start immediately
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant Controller is responsible for all of the Accounting operations within the business. This responsibility can be split into the following five general areas:
Management. This involves overseeing the operations of the Accounting Staff, as well as of any activities which lead to accounting transactions, including creating and maintaining a systems infrastructure in place, such as policies, procedures, and calendars of activities.
Transactions. This involves the proper processing of all types of business transactions, which includes supplier invoices, billings to customers, payroll, and cash receipts and disbursements. It also requires the use of a system of controls to ensure that transactions are processed properly, and a record keeping system in which transactions are recorded and archived.
Reporting. This involves the preparation of the standard set of monthly financial statements, as well as a variety of management reports.
Planning. This involves coordinating the creation of the annual budget, as well as the investigation and reporting of any subsequent variances between it and actual results.
Compliance. This involves compliance with a variety of tax reporting requirements, government reports, debt covenants, and accounting standards.
Tasks Include:
Formulating budgetary and accounting policies.
Preparing financial statements for presentation to boards of directors, management, shareholders, and governing and statutory bodies .
Conducting financial investigations, preparing reports, undertaking audits and advising on matters such as the purchase and sale of capital expenditures, capital financing, suspected fraud, and taxation.
Examining operating costs and organization's income and expenditure.
Providing assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements.
Providing financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans and operations.
Preparing taxation returns for individuals and organizations.
Liaising with financial institutions and brokers to establish funds management arrangements.
Introducing and maintaining accounting systems, and advising on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems
