Job Summary:
Candidate will be part of a team that supports IBMi images. This support covers system management, patching, upgrading, and backup/recovery.
Data replication for HA, OS upgrades and patch updates, hardware installation and configuration, communications
Setup, security administration, system performance management, operations procedures, end-user problem support,
Interfacing with customers and vendors. There are opportunities to work with other TELUS support teams when there are dependencies.
Integral part of the job is to be a part of the team pager call-out schedule for after-hours support.
Responsibilities:
Become familiar with the unique environments of each IBMi customer.
Understand the processes and procedures in TELUS to support customers.
Develop knowledge and experience in areas where the candidate may be weak in order to be a fully participating team member.
IBMi hardware and tape libraries
TCP/IP communications
IBMi printing
performance tuning
file and database management concepts
data replication and HA concepts would be an asset
IBMi programming knowledge
CL programming
RPG programming would be an asset
Additional Skillsets:
Project planning using MS-Project
Customer presentation skills
Project management skills
Self-starter
Required Experience 3 years, or more supporting IBMi in a multi customer and multiple IBMi environment
