Area Product Owner
The Area Product Owner is a more junior member of the product management team, responsible for
a defined area of product functionality. This will be a subset of our Digital Experience Platform
software, contributing to the overall product. Within that defined area, working under the direction
of senior product leadership, the Area Product Owner is responsible for defining and prioritising
product requirements.
We operate within a Large Scale Scrum environment and the Area Product Owner will be expected
to participate in Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement and Sprint Reviews for the area that they own.
This work will contribute to the overall goal of the product team, which is to define and release
products that delight users and generate profit for the company
Within their area of ownership, the Area Product Owner will be responsible for:
 Gather and prioritize customer requirements and maintain the requirements backlog
 Participate in Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement and Sprint Reviews to ensure that
engineering implements the features that most advance the product.
 Maintain awareness of competitive products and the technology landscape, to ensure
appropriate product differentiation
 Work with other product owners and product leadership to define product positioning and
messaging
The Area Product Owner will have the following key skills and knowledge:
 3-5+ years work experience
 Experience working in any capacity with a digital experience platform and/or content
management system or possibly another marketing technology product.
 Experience defining requirements for implementation teams within a Scrum or other Agile
method
 Awareness of technology trends relevant to digital experience platforms
 Ability to listen customer requirements, analyse competitive products and distil into
prioritised product requirements
 Strong analytical and organizational skills
 Experience of working with global customers and internal workforce
 Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
