Background:
An Archicad Designer is responsible for preparing designs for various buildings, monuments, or construction equipment. Typical duties of an archicad designer include making use of archicad software in designing architectural models, working closely with engineers and architectural staff, visiting construction sites, making schematic drawings, preparing designs for interiors and exteriors of building projects, preparing various different views of the same building project, checking for architectural design errors, reworking on the models designed, meeting with clients, taking feedback from clients, and making relevant changes. An Archicad Designer typically reports to a design manager.
Responsibilities:
Participates in design and other collaboration meetings;
Performs quality checking of drawings produced to comply with firm's quality standards;
Performs due diligence on safety and building codes and standards;
Generates solutions to conflicts in drawing details by searching and gathering information, participating in meetings or consulting immediate superior; and
Assists in the preparation of schedule of materials and finishes and preparation of specifications and other related documents.
Requirements:
Architectural License
With proven residential design portfolio
Ability to foster innovation in design, construction technology and sustainable design.
Excellent organizational, time management, project planning, writing and communication skills.
Proficiency in the use of various BIM, design and presentation software, ArchiCAD preferred, but includes Revit, SketchUp, and Photoshop.
A fundamental understanding of building codes and various construction types resulting in well thought out details.
Collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and jurisdictions.
