Position Summary:
This is a permanent role responsible for the issuance/purchasing of airline tickets using manual and auto-ticketing techniques in Global Distribution Systems with preferred expertise in Sabre and other travel applications. Ticketing Tariff Agents agents are responsible for the daily purchasing, quality checks and working multiple exceptions report to ensure any errors in process are identified and corrected to mitigate any financial and customer experience impact. This role is responsible for exchanging and refunding tickets based on airline general and special contract rules. Must be able read and interpret contracts terms, conditions and processes as out lined in each fare type to ensure no financial loss associated to a purchase and ensue that they are able to recover all funds as allowed by each fare type/rule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the issuance/purchasing of airline tickets using manual and auto-ticketing techniques in GDS with preferred expertise in Sabre and other travel application.
Responsible for the daily purchasing and quality checks of all airline tickets.
Works multiple exceptions report to ensure any errors in process are identified and corrected to mitigate any financial and customer experience impact.
Responsible for exchanging and refunding tickets based on airline general and special contract rules.
Responsible for reading and interpreting contracts terms, conditions and processes as out lined in each fare type.
Responsible to recover all funds applicable to the company to mitigate any loss as allowed by each fare type/rule.
Must be able to communicate with team members to address process concerns or areas of opportunity that may be impacting workflow, customer experience and/or financial impact.
Must be able to escalate though proper communication and reporting of areas requiring immediate operational attention to mitigate any financial loss and customer experience impact.
Must be able to work on projects associates to travel processes as required.
Financial Responsibilities
Responsible for an average of 5 million in refunds monthly and the purchasing of
Qualifications:
Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) or Certified Travel Associate (CTA)
Business degree preferred and or combination of industry experience of 5 years in airline ticketing and tariff
Knowledge and Skills:
Global Distribution Systems Expert
Customer Service skills
Analysis skills for problem resolutions
Physical Demands:
Flexibility to work different schedules to support a global team is required.
May be required to work long hours and or non-business hours due to operational required support.
Work Environment:
Work location is a primary home-based position but may be required to work from corporate offices if deemed operationally necessary. The job function and environment are very fast paced and supports a 24/7 operation. During situation/crisis management extended work hours and support may be required. Some travel may be needed.
