As an Operations Specialist in NNIT you will be part of our Data Handling and Virtualization operation service team that handles the daily operation of more than 5.000 virtual servers and 600 VMWare Hosts. Your primary responsibilities will be:
Participate in the daily operations of incident, service and change request management
Participate in-call and on-site duty 24/7
Involved in consolidation, automation and performance optimization
Enterprise operation with decentralized and remote locations and data centres
Documentation of operations and services
Provide guidance and counselling
The team works closely together with our IT Operations Services division in Denmark, responsible for everything from infrastructure and applications to complete orchestration and support of our customers’ IT solutions. Our work processes are based on best practice and our procedures follow ITIL standards (IT Infrastructure Library).
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
As a VMware specialist you have a broad technical knowledge on a 2nd level or higher support. We expect that you are VMware certified and have a deep knowledge about the Windows platform as well as knowledge on Storage Administration. You have a business-oriented approach to communication and problem-solving. You have strong analytical skills as well as a structured positive way of thinking. NNIT works according to the ITIL Framework and we expect that you are certified in ITIL, if not we will help you obtain the certification.
Relevant Bachelor degree or higher and at least 4+ years working experience with extensive knowledge in daily operations and other Technical tasks preferably in a service oriented environment.
Has at least 4 years extensive knowledge on VMware ESX administration supporting a large scale/global sites from remote locations
Must have Knowledge and experience on Windows Servers and Storage SAN
Familiarity on HP enclosure and blade hardware and HP Tools such as iLO and OA
Excellent English language skills is required both in written and spoken
Excellent documentation, analytical, and troubleshooting skills, and must be able to communicate effectively and work with all levels of the organization
Beneficial but not mandatory, certified as VMware Professional
ITIL Foundation Certified
International experience is a plus
