Position Summary:
The main objective of this position is to support the daily operations and functions of EMR systems. This includes the administrative access that is granted to different parties according to job function and role to preserve confidential medical information. The Administrator of Medical Operations must ensure that H.I.P.P.A & G.D.P.R. and any other applicable regulations are always observed when considering who has access to specific information. In addition, the Administrator will support the health team's operation with all requests pertaining to medical records. This employee has the responsibility to be updated on the new releases of the software as well as study and understand how to execute the different functions of the program in order to be able to provide the necessary support to all users.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Manages all functions of the electronic medical record system in compliance with HIPPA and GDPR, and any other protection data applicable laws.
Provides access to different users based on, role and function, that each person has to confidential information.
Keeps a good communication and professional relationship with the electronic medical record software developer and participates in all meetings with the developer.
The holder of this position must be up to date on the different changes that will come with each new release of the EMR systems.
Reports any issues or defects that are noticed in the electronic medical record system.
Serves as a communication bridge between RCG and the electronic medical record software developer.
Provides copies of medical records to patients or their legal representatives after ensuring that adequate documentation is presented in order to safeguard the records from being given to the wrong party.
Develops ongoing electronic medical records orientation program for all employees through training.
Uploads and updates medical forms on the Medical Operations Training site.
Supports troubleshooting of inventory issues that arise in EMR systems.
Work with our Medical Financial team in updating point of sale data.
Assist the business with the generation of operational and medical reports coming from Seacare.
Executes Health Questionnaires entries and updates.
Supports the shoreside IT team in the guest and crew data retention alignment policy.
SeaCare workflow analysis to suggest changes to improve the way our shipboard teams execute their job.
Monitors the performance of the shipment of medical supplies interface.
Creates different types of instructional guides for users regarding new enhancements and versions of SeaCare.
Supports the interface with C-TRAC, JD Edwards, and the portal for external medical providers.
Supports updates to our SQM medical manual.
Completes daily and weekly audits to the CDC- Enhanced Data Collection system as required.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:
High school graduation with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Five years minimum of work experience with Medical Operations
Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
Demonstrated skills in database management.
Computer skills necessary to accomplish requirements of position including word processing, related facility software and internet research tools.
Focus on details and ability to work with teams remotely.
Ability to work with MS Office products, Word, Excel and other computer-based software products.
Basic understanding of the main aspects of physician and nurse education programs, nationally and internationally.
Bi-lingual English/Spanish spoken, and written skills will be an advantage.
