JOB DESCRIPTION FOR AN ADMIN/BOOKKEEPING ASSISTANT
Our client is a small bookkeeping firm where they assist over 100 clients in bookkeeping and payroll a month. They are looking for a bright and energetic Admin/Bookkeeping assistant to support their team of 4.
As an Admin/Bookkeeping Assistant, you will be required to look after certain clients as well as assist the team. They work in a very busy and fast environment in which you need to be able to keep up with the pace. Would suit someone with a little experience, willing to learn, and looking for a long-term position in which they can grow.
The successful candidate will help build the client's best practice process to streamline his workflow and systematize the business.
As an Admin/Bookkeeping Assistant:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a similar discipline is strongly preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of proven work experience in with data entry, record keeping and computer operation and related bookkeeping tasks including balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, end of month journals, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and payroll is strongly preferred.
• Proven experience and proficiency with general accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Xero, MYOB Account right and Essentials, QuickBooks.
• Strong communication and written skills.
• Must be a team player
• Must be able to work independently
• Show initiative
• Good time management skills
• Be able to learn on their own
• Follow a work schedule and be able to prioritize
Your Responsibilities as an Admin/Bookkeeping Assistant:
• Collation of client reports using MYOB/Xero & PDF Docs
• Manage/Triage Emails
• Send and write client emails
• Preparation of excel reports
• Generating client invoices
• Basic AR/AP management
• Batch payment files
• Assist with month end reports
• Document Management filing
• Administration support to manager
• Manual data entry from time to time
• Prepare journals as and when required
• Preparation of basic payroll
• Knowledge of Xero and MYOB is advantageous
