Arch Insurance Group is seeking a motivated aspiring actuary to join our team. Our group supports enterprise functions such as capital allocation, capital forecasting, and a broad range of research and development projects. Projects include working with pricing, reserving, finance, IT and other departments.

The primary role will be to provide support to key research and development projects and will have responsibilities in a number of high-profile functions and initiatives such as ORSA, RBC forecast, Economic Capital Modeling, and more. The actuarial assistant will have the opportunity to lead as a liaison representing the actuarial team with business partners.
Job Functions
Fulfill requests from Corporate actuarial including technical provisions, pandemic model, and other ad hoc requests.
Perform stress testing as part of Own Risk Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process.
Forecast key inputs for capital planning. Working with finance department to project future capital positions.
Work with Pricing, Reserving, Ceded Re, and Enterprise Reporting on special projects helping to drive company profitability.
Required Skills/Experience
Demonstrated interest in actuarial science and insurance no experience required.
Interest in and ability to complete the actuarial exams and achieve professional property & casualty actuarial credentials.
Software skills: Proficient w. Excel/Word/ PowerPoint basic knowledge of R or Python & SQL preferred
Communication: both oral and written communication skills including presentations and marketing
Leadership: Able to lead discussion with cross-functional team.
Collaboration: Able to effectively collaborate with cross-functional business partners
Efficiency: Strong productivity and organizational skills
Analytical and quantitative skills: theoretical foundation, work quality, productivity, creativity, ingenuity & problem-solver
Education
Bachelor's degree with concentration in a quantitative discipline such as Actuarial, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics
