Description
The Accounting Clerk performs a variety of general accounting support tasks in an Accounting Department
- Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records
- Supports accounting operations by filing documents, reconciling statements and running software programs
- Maintains accounting records by making copies and filing documents
- Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g. disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, account payable).
- Compile data and prepare a variety of reports
- Reconciles records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers
- Recommends action to resolve discrepancies
- Investigate questionable data
- Continuous evaluation of current policies and recommendation for process improvements
Qualifications
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Organizational, Verbal and Written communication is a must
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task is an asset with dedication to accuracy
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Ability to analyze large sets of data
- High degree of familiarity with accounts receivable functions
- At least 2 years experienced in the same field
