Accounting Assistant
FoodByUs is a one-stop shop connecting wholesale Buyers like restaurants, cafes and RSL's with top local foodservice suppliers - everything from meat to veg to packaging can be purchased via our site. We are the team who built Menulog and FoodByUs is fast on its way to being just as successful.
We are seeking a full-time, detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our Manilla team. reporting to our Financial Controller in Sydney. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting & bookkeeping background, with a focus on managing accounts receivable.
(*please note this role requires 3 days per week in our Manilla office)
About the Role:
Accounts Receivable Management:
Generate and send invoices to clients
Monitor and track outstanding customer balances
Follow up on overdue payments with customers and collaborate with other team members to resolve any payment issues
Record all cash receipts and reconcile payments to invoices
Monthly statutory remittances (SSS, Philhealth, Pag-IBIG)
Accounts Payable Management:
Process and record invoices in a timely and accurate manner
Communicate effectively with vendors to address and resolve discrepancies
Prepare and execute timely payments to vendors
Financial Recordkeeping:
Maintaining up-to-date financial records using accounting software (Xero)
Record daily financial transactions and ensure accuracy in entries
Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents
Financial Reporting:
Maintaining and tracking accurate records in MS Excel or Google Sheets, to enable financial analysis
Provide insights and analysis on financial data to support decision-making
Payroll:
Processing monthly payroll for staff
Maintaining and keeping accurate payroll records for all employees
What are we looking for:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a related field
Demonstrated previous experience
Proficient in using Xero features, functions and processes
Proficient in using MS Excel for reporting and analysis
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Prior experience working with Australian compliance and accounting standards is highly desirable
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
