Job Description: Accountant - Restaurant Chain
JES Job Employment Services (JES) is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team for a large restaurant chain. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing financial records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the chain's financial growth.
Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and provide insights for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
Oversee daily financial transactions and maintain general ledger accounts, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
Process payroll accurately and ensure compliance with tax regulations and labor laws.
Handle tax filings, including income tax, sales tax, and other applicable taxes.
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
Review and process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies.
Conduct inventory audits to verify accuracy and collaborate with operations to manage inventory effectively.
Support internal and external audits and implement improvements based on findings.
Utilize accounting software and tools to streamline financial processes.
Collaborate with the IT team to address system-related issues.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven work experience as an Accountant.
Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and relevant regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office applications, especially Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines.
