Job Description:
As a Remote Accountant at Basta + Croop, you will play a crucial role in providing accounting services to our clients. Your responsibilities will include a mix of accounting tasks, client onboarding, filing, and tax preparation. This is an exciting opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented individual who can thrive in a remote work setting.
Bookkeeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients using accounting software Quickbooks Online, Xero, FathomHQ, and HubDoc.
Record financial transactions, including income, expenses, and other financial activities.
Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements.
Generate and review financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
Client Onboarding:
Liaise with new clients to gather necessary financial information and documentation.
Set up client accounts and ensure all relevant data is accurately recorded.
Establish strong client relationships through effective communication and proactive support.
Accounting Services:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients using accounting software Quickbooks Online, Xero, FathomHQ, and HubDoc.
Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial transactions.
Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and discrepancies.
Tax Preparation:
Prepare and file tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations.
Stay up-to-date with tax regulations and ensure compliance with all tax laws.
Provide tax planning advice to clients to optimize their financial situations.
Filing and Documentation:
Organize and maintain financial records and documents electronically.
Ensure all documents are stored securely and are easily accessible for auditing or client inquiries.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and presentations for clients.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus.
Enrolled Agent or Tax Specialist is a plus
Proven experience working as an accountant, preferably in a remote or virtual environment.
Proficiency in accounting software and tools QuickBooks Online, Xero, Excel, and Google Sheets.
Experience with Drake Tax Software and KarbonHQ a plus
Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Detail-oriented, with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a remote team setting.
