About the role ....
The Accountant will be working closely with the client to support the business and manage the following tasks:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accountant is responsible for the processing and management of franchise & corporate store revenue transactions including calculation and generation of invoices, creation of direct debit batches, bank receipting & reconciliations, and general administration for the finance department.
Working as a part of the Finance team, ensuring that all debtor accounts are maintained in a timely and accurate manner
Ensuring all weekly corporate store cash-up sheets are completed and reconciled to the bank
Perform the day to day processing of financial AR transactions, including receipting, invoicing (single & bulk invoicing), direct debit batch processing and aged debtor reporting
Prepare end of month accruals and other manual adjusting journals to a standard of high accuracy;
Provide administrative support through documentation of accounting procedures and controls;
Manage EOM processes within Finance timeframes and ensure timely preparation and delivery of monthly end Reporting including balance sheet reconciliations and P&L preparation and review.
Communicate with internal/external stakeholders as necessary to ensure that all fees are collected in a timely manner
Support Finance's compliance to Minor's Policies and Procedures while ensuring the confidentiality and security of all financial files
Support a dynamic team-based work environment building a cohesive team spirit and positive working relationships
Undertake other duties that may from time to time be necessary, that are compatible with the nature and grade of this position
Performing customer account reconciliations
Maintaining the billing system including setup of new franchisees, franchise fees percentage and franchise fee relief
Investigating and resolving any irregularities or customer enquiries
About you ....
We are looking for an A-star individual, passionate and competent with what they do and bringing the WOW with the following qualifications:
Minimum 5 years in a similar Accounts Payable/ Receivable role or Bachelor's degree holder majoring in Finance/ Accounting/ Commerce or similar
Relevant knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Detailed understanding and ability to work with software packages, ideally Oracle Fusion, Excel, Word, Outlook
Understands office administration and general practices and procedures
Excellent interpersonal skills
High level of attention to detail
High level of written and verbal communication, numeracy, and literacy
Effective organization and time management skills
