Job Description
Contribute to all aspects of the Transmission and Provisioning operations on a day to day basis
Undertake the day to day requirements of the Earth Station operations, maintaining equipment and responding to faults as required
Ensure the Company's strategies, plans and policies are implemented
Ensures Company interests are protected and optimised
Ensure up to date operational and health & safety practice and procedures exist, are implemented, and adhered to by the team
Assist in producing Capex business cases when required
Dissemination of information and any in house training of team members in new technologies being implemented
To undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may be required from time to time having regard to the nature of the post
To be aware of the commercial requirements of the company and this group in particular
To at all times safeguard the company from legal action of to bring the company in to disrepute
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
Candidates must be a Bachelor's / College Degree holder in Engineering(Computer/Telecommunication) or similar fields.
Must have a valid Driving License
With relevant technical field to HND level or higher
At least 2 years relevant experience in Satellite earth station management and operational duties, covering spectrum analyser use, L band modems, IF and up/down conversion.
Have a strong electrical and mechanical background through job experience & training of AC & -48V DC power systems.
Have proven track record of system design, installation and maintenance practices.
Have the ability to work autonomously on projects and day to day
Good problem-solving techniques in electromechanical/electronics
Have experience in mentoring and developing junior members of staff
Experience in radio or fibre optic systems
Ability to fault find to a component level
Qualifications or experience in copper and fibre installation & technologies, desirable
Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, Word and Excel
